Utility Rebates

Earn Money Back for Improving Your HVAC System

Duke Energy Progress

Energy conservation is one of the most pressing issues in our society today. When you have a heating and cooling system that runs efficiently, you’re not only saving money but you’re helping reduce your environmental impact.

To encourage more customers to save energy, Duke Energy Progress offers several rebates. These rebates often apply to new HVAC installations. Usually, receiving these rebates just requires filing the correct paperwork within a certain timeframe after the applicable service.

Below are short descriptions of some of the rebates you may be eligible for through Duke Energy Progress and G&M Service.

New HVAC Installations

If your heating and cooling system is at least 10 years old, it may be time to upgrade to a more highly efficient system. Modern systems are made according to improved energy standards. Since a new system runs more smoothly, it does not have to work as hard to heat and cool your home. This efficiency translates back to the utility company, and for that, they can reward you with rebates.

For residential customers, you could receive a one-time rebate of up to $300.00 on your installation for each system, depending on where you live. This rebate applies to heat pumps, central air conditioners, and geothermal systems that meet certain requirements.

System Inspections and Maintenance

At G&M, we can never stress enough the importance of having your heating and cooling system regularly inspected and cleaned. It helps keep your system running well and prevents emergency repairs.

The one-time utility rebate for receiving an energy audit on your system has been discontinued at this time.

Air Duct Sealing

Even if your heating and cooling units are up-to-date and running smoothly, you could still see high utility bills if your air ducts are not sealed properly. Having your air ducts sealed prevents losing air – and money – through leaks and poor connections. You could save big - up to $190.00 - for having your air ducts sealed to meet Duke Energy Progress’s minimum requirements.

Commercial and Small Business

Using highly-efficient, energy-saving equipment in your business can help lower your utility bill and keep overhead costs low. Duke Energy Progress business customers may be eligible for rebate incentives for installing certain high-efficiency heating and cooling systems, depending on their location. Some businesses may also be available for rebates from custom measures to increase overall energy efficiency.

As a participating contractor, G&M Service can help you find and receive these rebates. We’ll even take care of most of the paperwork for you. Speak with one of our representatives to find out details about the available utility rebates from Duke Energy Progress.
