Originally, I started in the HVAC industry as a way to earn money during college. I was attending NC State for engineering at the time and needed a break from the books. I took a job in sales with Carrier. Eventually, I went back to finish my engineering degree but continued working for Carrier.
I worked with Carrier for thirty-two years, rising through the ranks at various places across NC: Asheville, Charlotte, and Raleigh. When I retired from Carrier, I knew I wasn’t done with the HVAC industry.
I’d known Randy Dickens for about twenty years, since G&M has been a long-time Carrier dealer. When Randy mentioned he was ready to step-down from running the company, I decided to purchase G&M from him. That was in 2006, and I have been proud to run G&M ever since.
I enjoy golfing and spending time with my family. I’m still a big NC State fan and like watching them play football and basketball.
I also work with a local philanthropy, Military Missions in Action. MMIA helps to support our local veterans through various programs. We have donated a lot of used equipment to this organization to help them in their mission in aiding our service men and women.
I have lived all over North Carolina my entire life, but have been back in the Raleigh area since 2006. My wife, Debbie, and son, Jeff, work with me at G&M. We have two daughters, Kimberly and Lizzie.
